Why should I be discouraged?
Why should I worry or fear?
You have told me not to worry,
Because You will always be near.
Your miracles are unbelievable.
Your wisdom is wiser than man’s.
Your mercy endures forever.
Your plans are not man’s plans.
You made all creatures great and small.
Everything was made by Your Word,
From the sun, moon, and stars
To the simplest and smallest bird.
Why should I be discouraged?
If I could just touch your garment’s hem,
Behold the fowls sow not, neither do they reap
But God the Father feedeth them.
Why should I be discouraged?
Whose report will I believe?
Whatsoever I ask in prayer, believing,
Jesus said, “Ye shall receive.”
Whose report will I believe?
Will I believe the Lord today?
Behold the fowls sow not, neither do they reap
Jesus asked, “Are ye not much better than they?”
You took away my pain,
You wiped my tears away
You heard my humble cry
And kept me when I would have gone astray.
You have given me Your best
Even when I expected the worst.
You have blessed me abundantly.
You have blessed and not cursed.
Why should I be discouraged?
Whose report will I believe?
Whatsoever I ask in prayer, believing,
Jesus said, “Ye shall receive.”
